Cancer Survivor's Celebration & Walk - a community awareness event

The 12th Annual Cancer Survivors' Celebration & Walk (put on by the Robert Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital) is taking place on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at 9:00 a.m.(celebration begins at 8:00/walk begins at 9:00).

Last year Lori & Erik, Ed & Christa & kids & I took part in this walk. We plan to do it again this year & thought maybe some of you would want to join us in support. There are NO PLEDGES REQUIRED. It is a leisurely, noncompetitive walk along the lakefront (Grant Park on the SW corner of Columbus & Balbo Dr) followed by a picnic lunch for everyone. There is family entertainment. And a t-shirt for each person registered.

If you register before the walk day the cost is $10 each. If you register the day of the walk, it is $20 each. Call 312/695-1304 or www.cancer.northwestern.edu for more info or to register. Children in strollers are free - pets are welcome.

We hope to see some of you there. It would be a fun way to get together & to show Lori (& anyone else you know with cancer) support.
