Surgery
9/5/2003
Oddly enough, this felt like a very normal day. One might liken it to being slightly robotic. I just put one foot in front of the other, got dressed, when to the hospital, got into my gown, got my IV's, and that was the last I remember. I awoke to Dr. Levy voice that asked, "How are you feeling", I replied, "I'm okay, did you get it all?", to which he replied, "Yep". Then it was off to the post-surgery waiting room, where I had to wait for ahout 4 hours...some "waiting" room. Then off to intensive care where I actually got to have visitors!! That was a treat. I remember quite a bit from that night. I remember every person who stopped by. Erik stayed with me that night and every night until I was discharged. I am so blessed that God brought me Erik...he has been my rock. Even in such a tragedy, we find we are more centered, open and alive then ever before.
